The brief

Bring dependable guest connectivity to a large hospitality destination.

Aberdunant Hall combines a luxury hotel and holiday-park accommodation across extensive woodland grounds near Porthmadog.

The published project brief called for an ultrafast fibre guest Wi-Fi service across the park. That meant treating the incoming connection, backbone and wireless distribution as one site-wide system rather than a collection of domestic routers.

The challenge

Scale, terrain and changing guest demand.

Large hospitality sites create very different network demands from a single building. Accommodation areas, facilities and operational spaces must be connected across distance, while the guest load changes sharply with occupancy and season.

The approach

A fibre-led backbone with wireless coverage built around the site.

The useful pattern for a project of this kind is to establish strong backhaul and distribution first, then place wireless coverage around the accommodation and public areas that require it.
